24 Hour Readathon: Closing Survey

I was planning on having this post up earlier today, but today got crazy so it's up now instead!

1. Which hour was most daunting for you?

Honestly deciding whether or not I was gonna stay up the whole time was the hardest part. There wasn't one particularly hard hour.

2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?

Honestly anything fantasy and action-filled would be my choices!

3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?

I know this year the organizers struggled with getting prizes. I think finding a better way to get prizes donated would help!

4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?

Cheering seemed to be stronger this year than in the past! I had multiple cheerleaders stop by this year.

5. How many books did you read?

Two, and part of a third.

6. What were the names of the books you read?

A Friend in Me, and The Knot's Ultimate Wedding Checklist.

7. Which book did you enjoy most?

A Friend in Me!

8. Which did you enjoy least?

The Wedding Checklist by default, since I only read two :P

9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders?

Yes! Block out a couple of hours, or a time slot each hour, to specifically spend doing nothing but cheering. It makes it more fun and less stressful that you're not reading!

10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time?

I always do! Next year I'm thinking of hosting a mini-challenge.

24 Hour Readathon: Bedtime

I was originally planning to stay up the entire 24 hours and make it to 5am this time. Unfortunately I'm not interested in reading and with everything we did for the wedding today I'm just kind of burnt out. So bedtime it is!

I will wrap-up with the ending survey tomorrow morning after I wake up.

24 Hour Readathon: Mid-Event Survey

All the festivities for my mother in law's birthday took much longer than expected, so I just got back home to update!

1. What are you reading right now?

Worry Less So You Can Live More by Jane Rubietta

2. How many books have you read so far?

Two, but I had already started them before the readathon.

3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon?

Finishing my current book and Heart Sisters!

4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?

The trip took longer than I expected, which was frustrating. But I just rolled with it, because family comes first!

5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?

How lazy I'm being this year! Usually I'm much more intense about it.

24 Hour Readathon: Master Challenge Post

I've decided to do something different this year. Instead of posting each individual challenge in separate posts (and clogging up my RSS feed) in going to keep them all on one master post!

Hour 2 Challenge: Cover Escape

I don't have many books in my stack with landscapes, but I do think the flowers on this one are gorgeous! Any garden like this would be a great place to escape.

24 Hour Readthon: Pre-Survey

Now that I am more awake (the readathon starts 5am my time) I came back to do my pre-party post!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

I'm reading from Longview, WA!

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I'm not really looking forward to one in particular; I have a bunch of library books to read before they become due, and a few other books that are half-read and I need to finish. Hoping to get those done!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Anything salty! I have some pretzel sticks... :)

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I'm currently planning for my wedding which is ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! Crazyyyyy! We will be taking a week-long honeymoon in Disneyland, where we met, and then in February we're moving to Florida to do the Disney College Program in Disney World!

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

My goal this year is to make it all the way through hour 24. I usually crash around hour 19, so I want to make it the final stretch this time!

24 Hour Readathon

Hi everyone! I will be participating in the 24 Hour Readathon today. I won't be updating too much, because it's my mother in law's birthday, and I still have wedding planning to do, but I will get reading in! Keep checking back for updates throughout the day.
