Hour 4: Goodreads Scavenger Hunt

I still haven't gotten as reading done as I wanted to so far, but I've been doing so much cheering! It's really a lot more fun than I expected.

This hour there is a scavenger hunt going on in the Goodreads group here, so go join in!

Hour 3: Four Seasons Mini-Challenge

I'm still plugging away in my first book, but making progress! Yay!

For this challenge, we use four books to represent the four seasons in some way.

Hour 2: Classic Words of Wisdom Mini-Challenge!

By now many of you are plugging along in your first book, and some have already finished books! I've barely started reading, partially due to cheering, and partially because I was dragging my honey out of bed to make me coffee and support me ;)

For this challenge, we take a quote from a classic piece of literature and describe what it means to us. I'll be honest, I don't read classics. So I'm choosing a classic Walt Disney quote instead.

Disney has always had a huge part in my life, as I grew up watching the movies. Attending the Disney College Program in 2013 just cemented the fact that I will always need Disney in my life. Right now I've been having a hard time being happy with myself, but this quote reminds me that even if I'm not happy with who I am, I am still me and I need to embrace that.

Hour 0: Opening Meme!

I was planning on being gung-ho this year and reading as much as possible, cheering as much as possible, as well as getting my blog ready for my re-launch tomorrow. However, my body says no and I woke up with a horrible stomach ache. I've had a hard week, so it's probably telling me I need my sleep. I'm planning on doing what I can, but I will be taking lots of naps today!

On to the meme!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

I'm reading from Longview, WA, where I recently moved to! I'm starting out on the couch in the basement area my fiance and I hang out in, but will eventually migrate upstairs as friends will be coming voer to work on the ceiling down here.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

Probably Beautiful Battlefields. Just this week I was diagnosed with depression, and I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle sometimes. I could use the encouragement!

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Nilla Wafers! Love the crunch with the sweet taste!

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!

I'm 24, and would like to get my Master's in Library Science someday, if I can ever afford to go back to school! I'm engaged, and will be getting married in exactly six months from yesterday, on our two-year dating anniversary! I love reading, and I love blogging! (If that wasn't obvious ;) )

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

This year is my first time cheering, and I'm really excited! While I don't plan to read as much as in the past, I do plan on being more intense with participating, and I'm hoping to hang in the full 24 hours, even if I need some naps!

Almost Ready!

So I am almost ready to re-open my blog! I went through today and completely re-did my sidebars and pages, so those are all updated. My next goal is to get my currently reading list on Goodreads updated and accurate!

I was going to post a vlog as an update for when I will be back up, but I'll be honest, I'm being lazy :P So! I am going to be participating in Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon, so I've decided to go back to regular posting the week after that. I'm still working on a weekly posting schedule, simply because I don't want to overwhelm myself right from the get go. I'll post when that's done!

Later this week or next I will be posting a vlog showing the books I plan to read for the readathon, so watch for that!

Have a great week everyone!

Working Blogging into Life

So I've been seriously neglecting this blog. And reading in general.

For those who haven't heard, I recently moved north to Washington with my fiance to move in with his parents as we get ready for our wedding. Two weeks after moving and much sooner than expected, I got a job at a daycare center part time. It's only about 28 hours a week, but it's pretty active being with those kids all the time. I spent a lot of time just relaxing and preparing to go back to work.

Because of this, many of my hobbies got pushed aside. Blogging and reading included. However, now that I've gotten a better handle on my work and life schedule being balanced, I'm planning on getting heavily back into blogging. I really do miss it.

I'm going to be spending this week updating both this blog and my personal blog with tentative weekly schedules and beginning to pump out long overdue reviews.

I already signed up for this April's 24 Hour Dewey Read-a-thon, and plan to use part of that time to write reviews as well as catch up on some reading.

So! With that being said, I am going to be back. For real this time.

Thank you to those who stuck by me and waited all this time!
